| Bonded
Restorations |
| This procedure works to even
out your smile and close unsightly gaps. Bonding can help restore
chipped, cracked, discolored or misaligned teeth by artistically
applying a bonding material, layer by layer, to the affected
teeth. It is then bonded to your teeth with a laser curing technique
to create a strong bond, just like your own teeth. If you have
a gummy smile, contouring can reduce the amount of gum tissue
that is visible. This is accomplished with a simple laser procedure. |

| Crowns
and Bridges |
| A crown is a prosthetic tooth
that is used to restore teeth where the structure is too weakened
or damaged to accept amalgam or dental composite fillings. Dental
technology has come a long way to improve the look of crowns.
Compared to the old style bridges, these works of art are exceptionally
well fitting and very natural looking. Using a bridge or crown
with a metal base covered with porcelain or using all porcelain
material eliminates the dark edges at the gum line that were
visible with the old style bridges and crowns. |

| Complete
and Partial Dentures |
| Complete dentures are plates
of artificial teeth intended to replace all of the natural teeth
in the upper or lower jaw. The plate, made out of gum-colored
plastic, sits on the tissue of the mouth that covers the bone
ridge. A partial denture is a removable appliance that replaces
multiple missing teeth, but fits around the remaining natural
teeth. This type of denture uses both the soft tissue ridge
and the remaining natural teeth to secure it in place. Partial
dentures can be attached to the natural teeth using clasps or
attached using crowns with hidden clasps. Dentures are necessary
to keep facial muscles and lips from sagging, and to allow the
patient to speak and eat normally. |

| Inlays
and Onlays |
Inlays and onlays are restorations
made out of tooth colored porcelain that are used replace
old silver fillings. They are great alternative for covering
larger surface restorations.
An inlay extends from the occlusal surface (chewing surface)
of the tooth to one proximal surface (in between the teeth)
. For effective placement of the inlay, the other proximal
surface should be free of decay. An onlay is similar to an
inlay, but instead covers the entire proximal surface. |

| Lumineers |
Lumineers are a type of
porcelain veneer used in cosmetic dentistry to correct stained,
chipped, discolored or misaligned teeth. Lumineers are unique
in that less of the natural tooth needs to be removed, since
Lumineers are much thinner than traditional veneers. With
less tooth removal, the need for dental anesthetic is minimized.
Lumineers are made out of Cerinate porcelain, which is extremely
durable. This allows the veneers to be fabricated as thin
as .2 to .3 millimeters.

to see if you are a candidate for Lumineers. |

| Neuromuscular
Dentistry |
If a patient's jaw is misaligned,
both the hard and soft tissues can be affected, and result
in headaches, jaw, neck and shoulder pain, tinnitus, and jaw
"clicking". These symptoms are the result of temporomandibular
joint syndrome (TMJ).
The goal of neuromuscular dentistry is
to correct the bite and realigning the jaw in order to relieve
the symptoms associated with TMJ. Neuromuscular dentistry
focuses on hard and soft tissues of the jaw, muscles and nerves.
The dentist determines the optimal position of the jaw by
measuring the relaxed position of the head and neck muscles,
and then repositions the jaw to achieve those measurements. |

| Periodontal
Scaling & Root Planing |
Periodontics is the dental
specialty involved with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment
of periodontal gum diseases. Gum disease is a chronic bacterial
infection that affects the gums and bone supporting the teeth.
It begins when the bacteria in plaque (the colorless film
that constantly forms on your teeth) causes the gums to become
inflamed and bleed easily. If left untreated, this infection
can lead to tooth loss. Persistent bad breath generally accompanies
these symptoms.
To to treat this condition, the dentist
will conduct scaling and root planing to the affected teeth.
These procedures clean the tooth and root surfaces to remove
plaque and tartar, and smooth the tooth root to remove bacterial
toxins. The dentist may also flush the periodontal pockets
with antibiotics or prescribe oral medications or a special
anti-germ mouth rinse. |

| Porcelain
Veneers |
Veneers are plates of porcelain
that are bonded on the front surface of the anterior teeth.
Although they are very thin, veneers become very strong once
bonded to the tooth. Porcelain veneers are an excellent choice
for covering cracked, chipped, or discolored teeth. Because
of their natural appearance, porcelain veneers can make a
very pleasing looking improvement to your smile. Veneers have
advantages over other treatments - often, little or no anesthesia
is required for the procedure and little or no tooth structure
needs to be removed. |

| TMJ Treatment |
Temporomandibular Disorder
(TMD) is a condition which caused by stress, overuse of the
muscles, and grinding of the teeth. TMD affects jaw muscles,
the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), and nerves when their movements
become out of synch. These habits wear out the jaw muscles,
causing headache, neck pain, sensitive teeth, damage to soft
tissues, muscle soreness, and jaw discomfort. Sufferers of
TMD can also experience difficulty opening and closing the
mouth, and lock-jaw.
The temporomandibular joint is the joint
which gives us the ability to chew, by allowing the jaw to
open and close, and allows jaw movement forward, backward,
and sideways. The lower jaw and its movements must be synchronized
in order for the TMJ to work properly.
TMD is treatable. A night time mouth guard
will allieviate the patient's teeth grinding. More severe
cases of TMD canbe treated with physical therapy, ice and
hot packs, and posture training.

| Implant Dentistry |
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root surgically anchored into the jaw to secure a replacement tooth or bridge in place. Implants are stable and permanent and are not reliant on neighboring teeth for support. Since dental implants look and feel like natural teeth, they are ideal for tooth replacement procedures.
Implants are also great for patients who are unable to wear dentures. Unlike removable dentures, implants are placed directly into the jawbone to support permanently cemented bridges. Implants can be made from several different types of metallic and bone-like ceramic materials that are compatible with body tissue, and resemble real teeth.
Implant procedures can be performed in the dental office with local anesthesia. The dentist performs oral surgery to anchor the artificial root into the patient’s jawbone. The healing process can take up to six months. Once fully healed, the replacement teeth are fitted and secured to the artificial root.
