Mason, OH, Dentist Serving Greater Cincinnati & Dayton, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana

Lumineers®, like porcelain veneers, are thin, tooth-colored shells that can be placed over the front of your teeth to correct a number of common cosmetic dental problems. However, Lumineers® are actually thinner than other types of dental veneers, allowing them to be placed without the removal of tooth enamel.

When placing porcelain veneers, our Mason cosmetic dentists must first prepare the teeth by removing enamel. While this allows veneers to fit perfectly into your smile, it can cause some patients mild discomfort. It also makes the placement of dental veneers irreversible.

By contrast, Lumineers® are thin enough to fit seamlessly into your smile without the removal of enamel. This can decrease the risk of issues such as tooth sensitivity while also allowing the treatment to be reversed without any impact to your natural teeth.

If you live in the Mason, Ohio area and would like to learn if Lumineers® are right for you, please contact Hardin Advanced Dentistry by calling (513) 234-5531 today to schedule your initial consultation.

Best Candidates for Lumineers®

Lumineers® are very effective at addressing issues such as:

  • Chips and cracks
  • Small gaps
  • Size and shape irregularities
  • Crooked or uneven presentation

Because they are so thin, Lumineers® are not suitable for more pronounced cosmetic issues and may not be sufficient to cover severe staining or discoloration.

The best candidates for Lumineers® should be free of gum disease and other oral health issues including tooth decay. If you are suffering from an oral health issue, treatment will be necessary before we can place your Lumineers®. The best way to learn if Lumineers® are ideal for your smile is through a one-on-one consultation with one of our Mason, Ohio cosmetic dentists.
