What Is Sedation Dentistry?

While we offer many premium comforts in our office, including: televisions, relaxation music, BOSE headphones, and memory foam chairs, we understand that some patients need a little more help relaxing. Sedation dentistry is a safe, effective solution that promotes your peace of mind and allows the dentist to complete multiple treatments while you rest comfortably.

At our office, we use oral conscious sedation. This is simply an oral medication you take prior to your visit. The medication erases fears and calms frayed nerves. Many patients are so relaxed that they fall asleep on their own accord during treatment. With oral conscious sedation, you will not be "put under." You will be conscious and capable to respond to the dentist's questions at all times.

We also offer Single Tooth Anesthesia, an advanced way to deliver anesthesia through an advanced single-use syringe system. This helps our sedation dentistry patients who are worried about pain during their procedure, and offers them more precise anesthesia delivery in a safe manner.

Nitrous oxide is another option that appeals to patients with dental fears. Sometimes called "laughing gas," inhaling nitrous oxide induces relaxation in seconds. Our dentists safely control the amount of sedation used, and the effects wear off quickly enough that patients can drive themselves home after a procedure.

Sedation dentistry has helped thousands of patients to overcome their fears, receive needed dental care, and have positive experiences at the dentist. Dr. Gary Hardin and Dr. Tara Hardin and our compassionate team welcomes apprehensive patients. We truly believe we can change how you feel about the dentist while providing you with comprehensive dental care.
